This policy explains what information Floyd & Sons, Inc. (“Floyd & Sons,” “we,” “us”) collects through fsiak.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Floyd & Sons is an Alaska corporation at 3730 Spenard Road, Anchorage, AK 99517. Our site is informational: there are no accounts, no payments and no reservations here, so we collect very little.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to fsiak.com and to messages you send us through the site or its email links. It does not cover rental reservations or rental agreements. When you reserve or rent a vehicle, you do so with Hertz®, Dollar® or Thrifty® on their own websites and under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.
Information we collect
Information you give us. If you use our contact form, we receive:
- your name and email address;
- your phone number, if you choose to provide it;
- the topic you select, including the “vehicle sales — notify me” option; and
- the message you write, plus anything else you decide to include in it.
If you email us directly, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments.
Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider receives standard technical data when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type. It is used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Our contact form also contains a hidden “honeypot” field that people cannot see but automated spam programs tend to fill in. We use it only to filter spam. It does not identify you.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, sensitive information such as driver’s license numbers, payment card details, Social Security numbers or health information through the form or by email.
How we use information
- To read and answer your message, and to follow up by email or phone if you asked us to.
- To let you know about vehicles we have for sale, if you asked to be notified.
- To consider you for employment, if you apply (see Job applicants).
- To keep the site running, secure and free of spam and abuse.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it, if analytics are enabled (see Cookies, analytics and tracking).
- To keep business records, comply with law and protect our rights.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask to join.
Who we disclose it to
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose it only as follows:
- Service providers that run the site and our email on our behalf — our web hosting provider, which relays contact-form submissions through a small server function, and Microsoft 365, where our business email is kept. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- The rental brands, only when your message concerns a rental that they need to handle, such as a reservation, billing or a claim. They then handle it under their own privacy policies.
- Text-messaging providers, if we run a text message program, solely to deliver messages you opted in to. See Text messages (SMS); mobile numbers and opt-in data are never shared for marketing.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountants, insurers and lawyers, when needed.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, employees, the public or Floyd & Sons.
- A business transfer, if all or part of our business is sold, merged or reorganized, subject to this policy.
Job applicants
Our site does not host an application system. To apply, you email your résumé to careers@fsiak.com. We use what you send — your contact details, work history and anything else you include — only to evaluate your application, communicate with you and meet our legal obligations as an employer. If we hire you, your application becomes part of your employment records. If we don’t, we may keep it for a period to consider you for other openings and to keep the records employers are required to keep; you may ask us to delete it sooner where the law allows. Please do not include your Social Security number, date of birth or other sensitive details in a résumé.
Text messages (SMS)
We may offer text messages in the future, for example about vehicle sales, job applications or service updates. If we do, we will send them only to people who have opted in, and each program will describe what you’ll receive when you sign up.
- Consent. We will text you only with your express consent. Consent is never a condition of buying anything from us or of being considered for a job.
- What we collect. Your mobile number, the date, time and method of your opt-in, and records of the messages we send and your replies.
- No sharing of mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from every other category of sharing in this policy and will not be shared with any third party, except the text-messaging service providers that deliver messages on our behalf.
- Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, and HELP for help. You can also contact us using the details below.
- Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How long we keep information
We keep contact messages and applications for as long as we need them for the purpose you sent them, plus any period required for business records or by law, and then delete them. If you ask to be notified about vehicle sales, we keep your request until we send that notice or you ask us to remove you. Hosting-level request logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention practices.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to our email is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please don’t send us anything you would not want sent by ordinary email.
Your choices and rights
You can browse the whole site without giving us any personal information. If you have contacted us, you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information; or
- stop sending you a vehicle-sales notice or other follow-up.
Some states, including California, Oregon and Washington, give their residents specific privacy rights. Whether a given law applies to a business our size depends on its terms, but we will honor reasonable requests like these from any visitor, wherever you live. We will not treat you differently for making a request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting, and in some cases the law lets or requires us to keep certain records. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.
Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing to opt out of. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out request, which our practices already satisfy.

Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Rental brands and other sites
Our site links to hertz.com, dollar.com and thrifty.com for reservations, and to our social-media profiles. Those sites are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. Information you give them — including reservation, driver and payment details — is collected and used by them, not by this site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
